The Assistant Comptroller plays a critical role in supporting financial operations, maintaining accuracy in financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented and methodical individual who thrives in structured and process-driven financial environments. This position reports to the VP of Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly billings, financial statements, and grant budgets.
- Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable records, both electronic and hard copy.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with grant award documentation and reporting requirements.
- Assist with audits, including tracking and organizing financial transactions above $5,000.
Banking & Transactions
- Process bank deposits, bill payments, and check distributions.
- Prepare and distribute checks while ensuring all backup documentation is complete.
- Scan images of all deposits and payments over $5,000 for annual audit records.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Assist with benefits enrollment, updates, and termination processing.
- Support payroll-related financial documentation and reporting.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Ensure all financial data is handled with a high level of discretion and accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, grant regulations, and audit requirements.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Provide general support to the operations team as needed.
Qualifications (required)
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain financial compliance.
- Professional and factual communication skills with internal teams and external partners.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
